About Us
Hey there,
I’m Nick
I’m the founder of @nickbalancom and @CyberThreatTracker, a platform that explains modern cybersecurity and AI-driven threats in clear, practical terms.
This work exists to help people understand how cyber risks actually work today, not how they used to work.
Why this work exists
Cybersecurity has changed faster than most people realize.
AI did not just make attacks more efficient.
It changed how trust is exploited, how urgency is created, and how decisions are influenced in real time.
As a result, much of the advice people still rely on today no longer holds under pressure.
It focuses on warning signs, tools, or rigid rules that break down when decisions need to be made quickly.
My goal is to close that gap by explaining the real mechanics behind modern threats and translating them into clear ways of thinking that people can actually use.
What I focus on
My work centers on the human layer of cybersecurity.
That includes:
- How pressure shapes decisions
- Why appearance is no longer a reliable signal
- How habits protect actions when certainty is missing
The emphasis is always on clarity over fear, and understanding over complexity.
Who this is for
This work is for people who want to understand modern digital risk without becoming technical specialists.
It is designed for anyone who navigates online systems, digital identity, or AI-shaped communication and wants to make better decisions without relying on fear or technical depth.
That includes professionals, creators, students, and everyday users who care about how trust and security work in real life.
What this is not
This platform is not focused on tools, certifications, or technical deep dives.
It does not teach coding, exploit development, or step-by-step system configuration.
It also does not rely on fear-based messaging or constant alerts.
Instead, the focus is on understanding how pressure works and building habits that support calmer, safer decisions when uncertainty appears.
Background
My work is informed by experience with international information security and business continuity frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 22301, with a focus on risk, decision-making, and resilience rather than compliance.
Where this leads
Alongside this work, I’ve developed a practical course focused on calm decision-making in the age of AI.
